Verses and miracles of the external appearance of camels
- Camel eyes
Camels' eyes have
two-layered eyelashes, like a trap, so that they insert one into the other.
Thus, they protect their eyes and prevent sand from entering them.
- Camel nostrils
The nostrils take the form of two narrow slits surrounded by hair,
with a fleshy edge. This allows the camel to close them, preventing the
sand particles that the wind carries into its lungs.
- Camel ears
The ears are small and slightly protruding. They are covered by
hair on each side to protect them from sand carried by the wind. If sand storms
blow, they fold back and attach to the head.
- Legs of camels
Camels' legs are
long to raise their bodies above much of the dust that arises beneath them. They
also help them to step wider and move agility. The camel's feet are
protected by sandals covered with strong, thick leather, which includes a wide,
soft cushion that expands when the camel steps on the ground. And thus
it can walk on the softest sand, which is difficult for any other animal.
- Camel's tail
The camel's tail has hair on its sides. The hair protects
the back parts from grains of sand that are blown away by the wind, which blows
away the grains of sand like bullets.
- Camel neck
Its neck is high so they can eat food from ground plants. He gnawed
the leaves of tall trees. It also protects her from dirt and helps her lift
heavy loads
Verses and miracles of the internal structure of camels
- Camel stomach
The camel's stomach has four sides. Its digestive system is
so strong that it can digest anything besides food. Camels do not
breathe through their mouths. That's why she never pant, no matter how hot it
gets or how thirsty she becomes. They also avoid water evaporation this way
- Camel body temperature regulation
Camels only secrete
a small amount of sweat when absolutely necessary. Thanks to their body's
ability to adapt to living in desert conditions where the temperature changes
between day and night.
- Camel production of water
Camels produce water
from the fat in their humps in a chemical way that humans cannot match. This
helps her withstand hunger and thirst
I am amazed by all of this. If camels are placed in extremely
harsh conditions due to the harsh desert. They consume a lot of water in the
form of sweat, urine, water vapor and exhaled air until they lose approximately
a quarter of their weight without feeling tired or complaining. The surprising
thing is that most of the water lost by camels is derived from its body
tissues. Only a small portion of her blood water is drained. Thus, the blood
continues as a flowing liquid, distributing and dissipating heat from the
surface of its body. This is one of the miracles of God, the Creator and
All-Knowing. If the camel’s temperature suddenly rose so high that its
systems, especially its brain, could not bear it, they would die.
- Camel milk
Camel milk is one of
the miracles that God Almighty has bestowed upon camels. A camel
is milked for an entire year on average, twice a day. Its average daily
production ranges from 5 to 10 kg of milk. While its average annual production
is about 230-260 kg. In general, camel milk is reddish white. Sweet and
sour taste. It may be salty sometimes. It also sometimes tastes like water. The
changes in the taste of milk are due to the type of fodder and plants that the camel
eats and the water that she drinks.
- The ability of camels to withstand thirst
Some of the abilities of camels clearly illustrate the great
miracles of God in creating camels. and his miracles that dazzle bright
minds. Camels can withstand extreme thirst in the heat of summer for two
weeks or more, which causes them to become emaciated, causing them to lose
approximately a quarter of their weight. However, the fact that she endured the
brutality of thirst in the heat of summer for two weeks or more shows the
extent of her extraordinary ability. When compared to the ability of a person
who cannot live in such conditions for more than one or two days. If a person
loses about 5% of his weight in water, he loses his ability to judge matters.
If the percentage increases to 10%, his ears become deaf, he becomes delirious,
and he loses his sense of pain. However, if the percentage of water loss
exceeds 12%, the person loses his ability to swallow and it is impossible for
him to survive, even if he finds water, except with the help of his rescuers.
When rescuing a person who is about to die of thirst, his rescuers
must give him water to drink very slowly to avoid the effects of a sudden
change in the percentage of water in the blood. As for thirsty camels,
if they find water, they can get tired of it without anyone's help, in order to
regain in a few minutes the weight they lost during the days of thirst. There
is another advantage of camels over humans. Thirsty camels can
quench their thirst with any type of water. Whether it is sea water or swamp
water that is very salty or bitter. Because God has given her two kidneys that
have the ability to purify this water from those salts and restore pure water
to the blood. As for the thirsty person, trying to save him with salt water
means hastening his end.
That is why we find that the text of the noble verse, I seek refuge in God from the accursed Satan: “Do they not look at the camels, how they were created?” 17 Surah Al-Ghashiya does not contain theories or scientific facts, but we find in it beautiful guidance from God, the All-Knowing, the All-Aware of the secrets of His creation to reach those facts. Not all of this is miraculous in the creation of camels, but some of it is miraculous, and that verse will continue to reveal its secrets until God inherits the earth and those on it. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.
