order Brassicales, and the class Angiosperms (flowering plants).
Culinary Uses: Black
mustard seeds are characterized by their pungent and strong flavor. Roasted
black mustard seeds are used in cooking, pickling, or making mustard sauce.
In East India, black mustard seeds are used to flavor fish, make
yogurt and rice, and prepare Gujarati coconut curries. Black mustard is used in
the production of Dijon mustard and other specialty mustard sauces used to
season meats and poultry, barbecue sauces, and quick sandwiches.
Black mustard is used in bread making. Add a few teaspoons of
whole mustard seeds to the dough to create delicious bread.
Black mustard seeds are used to prepare a drink that strengthens
