Moral values are "a set of universally accepted
ethical obligations passed down from generation to generation." These are
values transmitted through tradition, not codified in books or systems,
although they serve as the foundation for the legal framework of a group or
nation."
Moral values are behavioral values that exert a
powerful influence on people, guiding them to remain on the right path without
resorting to the imposition of authority or the enforcement of laws. For the
most part, everyone desires to be respected and valued by society, with only a
few exceptions, and exceptions do not constitute the norm.
Moral values contribute to the well-being of society
and protect it from decline and regression. This is the primary reason why
Islam urges Muslims to not only possess moral values but also to instill them
in their children, creating a conscious, educated, and psychologically sound
generation and building a healthy society free from all the ills that threaten
human stability, such as crime, immorality, and the spread of vice. Among the
moral values are justice, patience, altruism, courage, tolerance, kindness,
cooperation, and humility…
