Personal values are: “the things that matter to us, the characteristics
and behaviors that motivate us and guide our decisions regarding what is
acceptable and unacceptable, right and wrong. They are relatively stable,
although they may change with the surrounding environment and with the
individual’s life fluctuations and experiences”.
And with and life experiences that an individual goes through
Personal values are related to and inherent in the individual, influencing
their self-worth above all else, shaping their relationships with others, and
determining their path in life.
Personal values are not only inherent in humans but also in animals.
Animals live for themselves without concern for others, with the exception of
the mother animal, which cares for her young until they are old enough to
support themselves and bear responsibility. Personal values are characterized
by their applicability to different situations. For example, loyalty, a value
important to someone, can be applied to family, friends, or the workplace.
It is noteworthy and practical that a person may practice
some of their personal values in daily life, while others may not be
practiced due to inability or the absence of suitable circumstances. They may
be generous but lack the means, or selfless but lack the chance.
Personal values include honesty, loyalty, compassion,
patience, forgiveness, benevolence, altruism, generosity, humility, ambition,
perseverance, and courage.
